One of the things we have proved with #24more is - once more - the value of collaboration. It has been amazing to work with partners from many continents and see the domino effect of collaboration based on shared values.
For example, World Merit launched the #24more challenge to all their members. This led to an incredible number of people involved from countries we could otherwise not have reached, from Chile to Indonesia, through Ghana, India, Bangladesh and South Korea!
The World Merit Chapter in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, for example, held a #24more event. They saw videos about Leap Year and TEDx Jakarta videos. The conversation developed towards questions such as "What's our purpose in life? What's happiness? Are we happy yet?" . They shared stories and the question most people were interested in was "What makes you afraid?".
"Failure!" was the answer.
One of the participants, Intan Puspita Arum, comments: "The point I got from this event is that I will rethink my new year's resolution by make it a monthly resolution to make it easy to touch. A year is too long to renew our resolution!"
In South Korea, an event was organized at Raemi school, Gwangju. "It's great to get to know our friends' stories and dreams. We shared our challenges and learned many things from each other's experience". It was an amazing event, they said: "Actually, happiness inspires us to be more productive".
Even in Amponsa, a small community in Agona Swedru, the central region of Ghana, there was an event! Emmanuel Opare, who organized it, is passionate about education "I embarked on an adventurous journey to a remote community to understand the educational situation. Through my visit, I found the school building in a deplorable state and inadequate educational materials such as text books, exercise books, at a point that the teaching and learning process is very slow there. I therefore took it upon myself to do some fundraising to help support these kids".
What a great example of aligning one's purpose!
We thank you all for having been - and for keeping on being - part of this global movement towards a career of purpose!
